• Writing today’s blog post, relaxing to the soothing sounds of torrential rain through wide open windows, and feeling cleansed and recharged on this wet, crisp Caturday!

So make yourself a cozy beverage โ˜• and cuddle up for today’s chill aesthetics…

Current Reads include: Rouge by Mona Awad; Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes & Veal by Mackenzie Nolan

and sure seems like a good rainy day to subscribe โœŽ

Do you have any Rainy Day rituals?

When it’s rainy and wet outside, I like to make cozy warm beverages (e.g., naturally coffee, but also herbal teas) and light incense (even while the windows are open) just to have a peaceful and mindful space to nestle in and reset with uplifting, sensory stimuli!

If it’s not raining and you want that immersive experience: you can simulate the rain sounds, and if any YT channel has the best ambient background videos – it’s The Dead of Night

And once I’m all settled in, I begin the cozy activities my ritualistic self thoroughly enjoys on these slow and intentional rainy days.

Editor’s Note: I enjoy these cozy activities other days as well ๐Ÿ™ˆ just they really soothe me during a forced indoor Caturday!

My Cozy Activities โ˜” Rainy Day Ritual Edition

It’s no secret that my all-time favorite cozy rainy day ritual is reading… but let me introduce to you to a few of my other cozy rainy day hobbies that I find creatively fulfilling ๐ŸŽจ

    ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Designing Digital Art

Did you know that the majority of the graphics and effects on my blog are created by yours truly?

I’m really passionate about exploring my skillset in digital art & design. Just recently, an admired colleague of mine put my attention towards Photobashing ๐Ÿ‘€

Photobashing is a digital art technique that blends various photographic and digital elements into a stunning and often realistic final artwork.

which seems like an incredible digital concept art technique to learn and build upon, which sort of triggered today’s cozy indoor Caturday experimentation with the blog header:

I like exploring and messing around with layering photos and graphics, as the dimensional playing field is fun and interesting to create original pieces!

Here’s some more graphics I’ve recently created (using Canva) not necessarily using the Photobashing technique, but a layering effect to create a signature look ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    Creepy Cross-Stitching ๐Ÿงต

Usually my colder, cozy ritual but still a big creative outlet for me is a crafty, stitchy hobby to create stunning pieces of art ๐Ÿคฉ

Some of my recent finished pieces, now to only source some vintage frames to display them ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

This hobby really grew when I found the perfect creepy crafty book for me a few years ago, and I have now made it my personal mission to stitch each and every creepy cross-stitch pattern in Lindsay’s book ๐Ÿ†

I think I’ve stitched at least 6 pieces so far, and still counting…

ATTENTION ๐Ÿ”‰ Not sponsored, but I’ve discovered it’s currently on sale on Kobo if you’re interested in picking up your very own copy and learning how to cross stitch – great for beginners or refreshers!

    โŒจ๏ธ Writing /Creepy/ Content

On top of stitching spooky things and creating visuals for this blog, I’m actively committed to posting on a regular schedule, which is roughly:

    2-3 blog posts a week

that are conjured up, summoned and appear on the weekends:

    Between
    6:00pm Friday
    to
    6:00pm Sunday
    Atlantic ๐Ÿ Time

You’re always welcomed to creep backwards and check out any blog posts or content you might have missed, and can lend support by subscribing to the blog to be summoned when the latest creepy content arrives ๐Ÿ›Ž๏ธ

and also, catch my presence haunting these social platforms

Creatively recharging oneself in your passions and hobbies can truly refuel your soul and help alleviate a lot of overstimulation around us… and I hope reading this blog can add a little mindfully (morbidly creepy) inspiring moment to take with you throughout your days, and sustain your spirit for centuries to come ๐Ÿ‘ป (and thank you for reading ๐Ÿ–ค)

Your East Coast Ghost ๐Ÿ‘ป (with the most) is back with another blog post to discuss a solution that might potentially help me (and possibly you) curate cute and chic outfits, effortlessly?

But first, a little ๐Ÿ”ฆ spotlight on a fashion icon…

    Finding My Style-Outfit Formula

I’m not sure if anyone else who identifies on the neuro๐ŸŒถ๏ธ spectrum struggles with the following…

I love having a variety of similar items to mix-and-match outfits (e.g., Horror/Band Graphic Tees, Oversized Cardigans, Wide Leg Pants, etc.) but I become paralyzed in moments (either ahead of time or on-the-fly) when trying to create the looks.

I’m such a m๐Ÿ‘€d in many ways, and that includes in what I wear on a given day… so I looked into ways that I could have my options, but a simplistic ‘solution’ to allow me the easiest and most effortless way to build an outfit, when I need to!

What is a Style or Outfit Formula?

Okay, so I can think of an outfit formula as a sort of math equation where item + item = outfit

Let’s see if I can build upon this simple math equation and create a couple of formulas to follow this month as a little trial and test to see how they function ๐Ÿค“

    Formula 1: Oversized Shirt + Comfy/Wide Pants

Formula 2: Graphic Tee + Maxi Skirt

Formula 3: Oversized Sweater + Patterned Pants

    Formula 4: Graphic/Cropped Tee + Extra-Wide Jeans

Alright, with a few formulas created, I’m going to test them out and report back around the end of the month with how they worked for me and my overall experience with using Style/Outfit Formulas! ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ

Consuming Scary Stories And Morbid Media

For today’s short n’ sweet Sunday blog post, I wanted to share with you just some of my favorite scary stories and morbid media I consume on a regular basis (don’t worry, I take good care of myself with eye-bleach and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia references)

    Perculiar Podcasts ๐ŸŽง

I’ve only recently started listening to Audiobooks and Podcasts (using Spotify Premium, not sponsored) as I’ve always struggled to find the right activity to pair with them, so that I could actually pay attention to the stories. I found that going for walks or doing things around the house has been the easiest way for me to consume this form of media.

Since I’ve found a few that have sunk their teeth into me, I want to share them with you, in hopes you might also get hooked…

    Radio Rental

I recently discovered this Podcast through my creepy content feed and was immediately grabbed by the throwback, retro branding and eerie feeling of an uncanny nostalgia that captures your curiosity and consumes your entire being

or maybe it’s just me, then ๐Ÿ™ˆ

In particular, Episode 64 really solidified by obsession with this peculiar podcast: the immersive and dread-inducing narratives of actual experiences (submitted by real listeners), layered with exceptionally high quality SFX and blood-curdling atmospheric depth to really chill you to the bones as you imagine being exactly where they were, in that exact moment…

Rainn Wilson… no, sorry – Terry Carnation does a fantastic job as your shopkeeper/host to assist in-between the ‘tapes’ and help you recalibrate and chuckle through your nerves as he delivers the best eccentric energy to balance that creepy, uncertain chaos!

โ˜ ๏ธ Listen at your own risk

    Nexpo

I originally found Nexpo on YouTube and absolutely loved his production and content quality (which was what made me excited to start listening to his Podcast ๐Ÿ‘€)

    Late Nights With Nexpo

Now I can get my creepy chills in, on the go, in a Podcast-format that is just as high quality and immersive as his YT content!

Long-time subscriber to Nexpo and would highly recommend anyone who enjoys getting spooked to also creep his content closer ๐Ÿ‘€

This episode I recently listened to I found particularly disturbed and borderline hard to stomach, as they discussed the infamous research facility in Japan during the War, and the experiments conducted in the 1930s-1940s : Unit 731

    โ˜ ๏ธ Listen at your own risk…

    Creepy YouTube Content ๐Ÿ“น

Before listening to Podcasts, I would regularly consume (and still do) a lot of creepy content on YouTube and for your listening and viewing pleasure, I also wanted to share some of the creepy content on YouTube…

    โš ๏ธATTENTION!

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED on the following videos due to sensitive and disturbing subject matter.

    watch the lastest Nexpo upload

Some other YouTubers I’ve subscribed to like Nick Crowley, also produces high-quality and captivating content, along with Lazy Masquerade & Cadaber, and you will definitely want to keep a light or two on while watching some of these ๐Ÿ˜จ

watch the latest Nick Crowley upload

The way in which they tell these terrifyingly true stories really makes you question what reality you are in (and whether you want to be in it…)

watch the latest Lazy Masquerade uploads

Seems like my morbid curiosity clearly gets the best of me, because I will never stop consuming the creepiest content online (and I’ll always be afraid of the dark…)

I told you this would be a short ‘n sweet post today just to obsess over some of the scary stories and morbid media I consume, but which may truly consume me…

Thanks for these recs! I adore a good spooky podcast. My favorite is Morbid. Itโ€™s quite successful so youโ€™ve probably heard of it, but if not itโ€™s worth checking out. Two sisters from Boston, Ash and Elena, cover everything from true crime to scary legends/places (including Listenersโ€™ Tales segments) to harrowing but inspiring stories of survival. I enjoy their banter, too.
