Just Some Rainy Day Rituals

·

,

Writing today’s blog post, relaxing to the soothing sounds of torrential rain through wide open windows, and feeling cleansed and recharged on this wet, crisp Caturday!

So make yourself a cozy beverage ☕ and cuddle up for today’s chill aesthetics…

Current Reads include: Rouge by Mona Awad; Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes & Veal by Mackenzie Nolan

and sure seems like a good rainy day to subscribe

Do you have any Rainy Day rituals?

When it’s rainy and wet outside, I like to make cozy warm beverages (e.g., naturally coffee, but also herbal teas) and light incense (even while the windows are open) just to have a peaceful and mindful space to nestle in and reset with uplifting, sensory stimuli!

If it’s not raining and you want that immersive experience: you can simulate the rain sounds, and if any YT channel has the best ambient background videos – it’s The Dead of Night

And once I’m all settled in, I begin the cozy activities my ritualistic self thoroughly enjoys on these slow and intentional rainy days.

Editor’s Note: I enjoy these cozy activities other days as well 🙈 just they really soothe me during a forced indoor Caturday!

My Cozy Activities ☔ Rainy Day Ritual Edition

It’s no secret that my all-time favorite cozy rainy day ritual is reading… but let me introduce to you to a few of my other cozy rainy day hobbies that I find creatively fulfilling 🎨

🖌️ Designing Digital Art

Did you know that the majority of the graphics and effects on my blog are created by yours truly?

I’m really passionate about exploring my skillset in digital art & design. Just recently, an admired colleague of mine put my attention towards Photobashing 👀

Photobashing is a digital art technique that blends various photographic and digital elements into a stunning and often realistic final artwork.

which seems like an incredible digital concept art technique to learn and build upon, which sort of triggered today’s cozy indoor Caturday experimentation with the blog header:

I like exploring and messing around with layering photos and graphics, as the dimensional playing field is fun and interesting to create original pieces!

Here’s some more graphics I’ve recently created (using Canva) not necessarily using the Photobashing technique, but a layering effect to create a signature look 😎

Creepy Cross-Stitching 🧵

Usually my colder, cozy ritual but still a big creative outlet for me is a crafty, stitchy hobby to create stunning pieces of art 🤩

Some of my recent finished pieces, now to only source some vintage frames to display them 🖼️

This hobby really grew when I found the perfect creepy crafty book for me a few years ago, and I have now made it my personal mission to stitch each and every creepy cross-stitch pattern in Lindsay’s book 🏆

I think I’ve stitched at least 6 pieces so far, and still counting…

ATTENTION 🔉 Not sponsored, but I’ve discovered it’s currently on sale on Kobo if you’re interested in picking up your very own copy and learning how to cross stitch – great for beginners or refreshers!

⌨️ Writing /Creepy/ Content

On top of stitching spooky things and creating visuals for this blog, I’m actively committed to posting on a regular schedule, which is roughly:

2-3 blog posts a week

that are conjured up, summoned and appear on the weekends:

Between
6:00pm Friday
to
6:00pm Sunday
Atlantic 🍁 Time

You’re always welcomed to creep backwards and check out any blog posts or content you might have missed, and can lend support by subscribing to the blog to be summoned when the latest creepy content arrives 🛎️

and also, catch my presence haunting these social platforms

Creatively recharging oneself in your passions and hobbies can truly refuel your soul and help alleviate a lot of overstimulation around us… and I hope reading this blog can add a little mindfully (morbidly creepy) inspiring moment to take with you throughout your days, and sustain your spirit for centuries to come 👻 (and thank you for reading 🖤)

Drop a ☔ if you’ve read up until this point, and comment below some of your favorite rainy day rituals 💬

Until we meet again,
