Blessed Yule and Warmest Winter Solstice, Boils, Ghouls and Grems! The shortest (darkest) day of the year for us in the Northern Hemisphere 🥶
If you celebrate or have any rituals you practice on Yule, I hope you have a magical evening lined up to turn that wheel into the new season 🪵✨

Since Yule is all about welcoming back the light, I wanted to incorporate cozy and warm elements into the coming weeks to combat the chilly winter weather. For myself, I will be cozying up with the various books I want to finish before the end of the year (e.g. Christmas and Other Horrors by Ellen Datlow that fits tonight’s setting perfectly), journaling and enjoying a warm hot chocolate…

I know it’s been quite some time since I posting on the blog and I will always apologize for my ghostly disappearances, but I hope to show you I’m here making a comeback effort tonight (even if it’s another Daily Writing Prompt to help me collect my thoughts and put them down this evening.)
Do you have a morbid curiosity? 👻
There are actually a few scenarios in which my true authentic happiness states are achieved, and it would be my pleasure to introduce you to them and possibly a little glimpse of the inner workings of my weird (and morbidly curious) mind.
I’m Most Happy
… When I’m with my books 📚 (& Book Peeps) 🫂

Reflecting back on the year when I was in those beautifully blissful and happy moments, they were usually around books (i.e., shopping for, discovering new, reading and reviewing…) and meeting other peeps in the book community (both locally and online through the book clubs) who share same (or extremely similar) tastes in books!
I never thought I would find my kindred spirits through my love of Horror literature, but I truly couldn’t be happier! They’ve added so much to my life, helping me discover myself even more along the way, and that is truly something I value immensely– that sense of community and your chosen family.
To feel loved and accepted for who you are amongst those you see you for you is pure happiness…

… when I’m Arts & Craftin’ 🎨
+ maintaining my peace on (& off) the Mat 🧘🏻♀️

After just a few short months of living in my new apartment, I’ve already transformed many areas (such as my bedroom, kitchen, office and living space) into the perfectly decorated eclectic, warm yet moody places. This is how I maintain my peace OFF the yoga mat, but I’ve also created space for where I can always place myself ON the mat when I need to (as a student practicing to become an instructor someday…)
If you’re interested in my design aesthetics, check out my Style Guide page or Pinterest boards for more inspiration…
I was also able to, my newly organized studio office, create the most bedazzled pieces of home wall decor yet…
(keep scrolling 👀)

One of my favorite revamped spaces in the new apartment is my little creepy reading corner. We get a considerable amount of sunlight (when it’s shining) and this particular corner gets the best light during the daytime. And with those suncatchers, it’s rainbow bliss 🌈
I’ve finally managed to install the shelves, various art and wall decor, along with my homemade disco skulls and shelves to give it the perfect dark and oddly strange nurturing vibes to recharge any ghoul’s spirit!

… when I’m in a Dark and Moody Environment ☕

I love a good dark, unsettling and moody atmosphere (like a basement arcade, dimly light bar or quaint jazzy cafe) and feel I am truly myself (or most happy) when I’m in those spaces. It sounds extremely counter-intuitive to being happy, but the darkest spots can sometimes give off the best vibes (if that’s your jam, of course.)
For example, I felt truly my happiest when I would adventure on my evening “weird” walks as I found they were oddly calming for my anxiety (compared to going for morning/afternoon ones) and were the perfect moments for capturing the best sunsets!

Sending gratitude and appreciation for those who took the time to read tonight’s post on what makes me most happy (which yes, can be morbidly disturbing to most…)
I really enjoy answering these WordPress Daily Writing Prompts and feel it’s a great way to curate your thoughts into a cohesive blog post and share amongst the WordPress blogging community.

I’m still currently working on a few creative projects for the blog in the new year, so stay tuned (and make sure to be subscribed) if you don’t want to miss out on knowing more about them 😏
Until we meet again…
