Well, Boils & Ghouls, we’ve had our first full week of Summer 2k25, AND entering our first heatwave 🫠 (yay)

… so let’s just say I’m already dreaming of beach days, cold drinks and forcibly maintaining my body temperature during these next few months…

While experiencing the extreme heat isn’t pleasant, I’m certainly glad we are finally having summer weather! 😎

I look forward to getting outside more for park reads and adventures. Plus, the nice days give me reasons to put together cute outfits for hot ghoul walks on the town.

And to manifest those perfect Summerween vibes (as we did last week when we celebrated our dark Summer Solstice ☀️), here’s my hopefully haunted approach to accomplishing Hot Ghoul Summer…

If you haven’t already creeped last week’s post, the summer vibes for 2k25 are all about moody & darkness – think dark boho & whimsigoth design aesthetics 🖤

Throughout the summer, I want to work on a couple of DIY projects 👀 to achieve this look through thrifty, budget-savvy means…

The vibes for 2k25 have been quite bleak, so why not lean into that for the plot? Going to close out these next six months with the moodiest, darkest vibes imaginable… but make it chic!

Books

Besides all of time I’ll be spending on NetGalley this summer, I’m really looking forward to a summer filled with so many books (that aren’t necessarily all horror 🫣)

I use Fable a lot to organize my books (addiction) and with that comes the enjoyment of planning (way) in advance my monthly reads.

I’ve already filled June & July with over 10+ books (with my average track record being about 4-5 reads a month) so I’m a little swamped with my book hobby… yet, I couldn’t be happier about it 🫣

Using Fable & other socials to communicate with my book Boils & Ghouls has been a wonderful source of recharging energy and probably the fuel that keeps me going during the worst of it.

In fact, I’ve already lined up a really cute Book Buddy Challenge for August using their new Book Aura feature ✨

I posted on Fable reaching out to my pals on the platform to see who would like to do this challenge with me, and the response was overwhelming 😭

So much so, let’s see how this one goes because there could definitely be repeatability here with this adorable reading challenge…

I’m also aiming to head to the beach a few times this summer- to fill the day with audiobooks & my newly acquired travel watercolor field kit and little mini watercolor journal!

I’ve been seeing them around a lot and it really sparked my curiosity to get myself on and try it out this summer!

It fits perfectly in my tote bag(s) and will be a great excuse to spend even more time outside this summer- either at the beach or at the park, I’ll have my hobbies well covered 🎨

Ultimately, the main goal of Hot Ghoul Summer is to remain chill and keep the vibes fresh, so that we can enjoy every decent moment we are given. And I do hope my summer vibes match yours, so we can continue to exist here in our creepy corner of the interwebs 🕷️🕸️
