are you ready for it? ⛺

Sunday Funday… am I right, Boils & Ghouls?! Nothing like that feeling to really get you going…

me when the Sunday Scaries hit 😄

Though, I’m so ghostly glad that it’s soon to be summer szn and with those warming hopeful vibes, we’re actually starting to experience some nice sunny days!

Though many of them happen to be during the week with the weekends being rain or chances of rain 🙃

Still, it’s enough to spark some joy and excitement to start daydreaming about all the park reads and the outdoor activities involving books during the upcoming summer months!

Realizing we are basically mid-year at this point and the Summer Solstice is this coming Friday in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s the perfect time to switch up the books in the haunted books clubs 📚

🖼️ Strange Pictures by UKESTU (2022)

Goodreads book description

While browsing the Horror section of my favorite local bookstore with the intention of purchasing Strange Pictures, I had this book in my hands when a lady next to me gasped and said “Oh, that’s a good one!”

I’m so excited for our Morbid Curiosities 💀 book club to experience this uniquely captivating, artistically created, Japanese murder mystery this coming Friday (June 20th) and to get everyone’s take on the use of art & design to tell an intriguing story.

🛀🏻 Mary by Nat Cassidy (2022)

Goodreads book description

I won’t lie about being a little sad that Lost in the Garden did not get selected (since it gave me such Midsommar vibes from the cover) but when Mary won and I read the synopsis…

No spoils, however, Mary was also hinted at being very “Midsommar” meets “American Psycho” 👀

So after learning new information, I was immediately won over and cannot wait to dive into this morbid treat with the Mavens on the 20th.

Do you like to read Horror books?

Do you like to vibe with the most spectacular souls in existence?

Are you into super awesome book clubs 👀?

But most importantly…

Do YOU have a 𝖒𝖔𝖗𝖇𝖎𝖉 curiosity?

🎬 Behind the scenes

With now over 330+ morbid Mavens & Horror lovers amongst the two haunted clubhouses, it warms my heart to see so much engagement and interaction with all the lovely souls in the clubs and all the amazing suggestions given for our monthly reads (that my endless TBR keeps on growing 😈)

We had 18 suggestions to narrow down to the Chosen Eight 🎱 so the cursed wheel came in clutch to help us pick our morbid selections…

our cursed wheel of names (using the month’s theme graphic 👻)

The chosen 8 🎱

With the cursed wheel, I tried to randomize the selections (as the last month a lot of our biggest contenders ended up in the same voting poll… here’s looking at you, Sour Cherry) so odds numbers went to Morbid and even numbers went to Mor(e)bid.

And with such tough choices to make, it really was a nail bitter to see what would ultimately end up winning… and well, you know the chosen two in the end 😏

As our saying goes, “…the mor(e)bid, the merrier…” so if you like book clubs and want to check out the Fable app, we would be happy if you could…

Until we meet again,
