Meet Libra the Kobo eReader

Β·

,

Oh Happy Friday, Boils and Ghouls! πŸ’€

I’m so glad you’re back here again for another frightful weekend of chit-chats and ghoulishness… and you just happen to be right on time to meet a very special guest tonight πŸ™Š

Meet Libra β™Ž

My new eReader!

I’ve decided that I’m keeping the name Libra as it also happens to be my horoscope and feels like it suits the device well… my balance of writing and reading πŸ€“

At the moment, I still haven’t purchased the Kobo Stylus 2, but I’m definitely planning on getting it soon for annotating eBooks and journaling in the summer months!

Wanna see a really cool feature you can do with the Kobo Libra? πŸ‘€

Then keep scrolling…

Custom Cover Art 🎨

Instead of having the last book you’ve read on the front, you can actually create your own customized cover art and add it to your screensaver folder on your Kobo 🀯

Personally created by yours truly, via Canva

It was really easy to do and took only a few minutes to edit/adjust the sizing TIP: make sure your resolution is 1264×1680 for the Libra to fill the screen!

My XP With Libra πŸ—’οΈ

Positives πŸ“ˆ

I’m finding it actually easier to read longer books (both physically and psychologically) as I’m not as intimidated by the amount of pages or whether it will only be available in hardcover (which is just not my jam atm πŸ™ˆ)

Also, it’s incredibly travel friendly as you’re able to take numerous books with you, anywhere you’d like, AND like previously stated, you get to customize the cover to be however you wish & the User Interface for the Kobo Libra Colour is just super sleek.

With a smooth, paper-feel to the screen, easy to use buttons and weighted perfectly to be easily held without fatigue- it’s the best purchase I’ve made for my continuous reading habits!

Neutrals 😐

I am very grateful that I’m able to check out local library ebooks using Overdrive, however I really wish it used the Libby app over Overdrive πŸ™ˆ I’m a big fan of Libby’s User Interface and honestly prefer it over Overdrive’s, but hey, beggars cannot be choosers when it comes to what options are available!

Up Next to Explore πŸ”¬

I still haven’t gotten a chance to explore Kobo PLUS and on my initial impression, it didn’t amaze me like I thought it would… I’m very glad I received a free trial, but the categories were vague and of course, just not that friendly to horror lovers (e.g., there’s no way to search just for Horror genre)

you can search by categories of various genres on Kobo Plus… just not Horror exclusively

… Oh, I still haven’t discovered how to use the Audiobook/Bluetooth sync feature yet, but… in time πŸ™ˆ

Ah thank you for mentioning my post! πŸ–€ The Kobo Stylus 2 is definitely worth it if you plan on using the notebook feature. I use it a lot for planning and taking notes while I’m reading. ☺
