I guess you could say this is where my lore began, with 90s horror shows, ghost stories and creepy campfire tales… but it feels like so much more than that to me 🖤

Have you ever yourself felt drawn to the most depraved, disturbed, most grotesque and absolutely vile horrors known to man, out of sheer curiosity?

Have you ever just wanted to say “F*CK IT!” and live your weirdest life reading the scariest stories, and start to source your spooky spirits collectively for the love of all things dark and morbid?

No seriously… I started a book club (over on the Fable app), for the Horror lovers and readers out there that just want to vibe, chill and read weird sh!t 👏 and called it Morbid Curiosities 💀.
With just over 250+ active book club members (the Morbid Mavens of Fable) who fill the club with engaging discussions, hilarious dark comedy and the most inclusive welcoming energy – it’s just about the best haunted space to summon the spookiest vibes! Members are free to participate in the readings (if they dare) and discuss their experiences in the moment, but are also happily encouraged to haunt the lobby and hang out if the book isn’t their cup of tea for the month!
Reader discretion is always advised.
Oh, and since we all love our book options and have been reading multiple books, we’ve recently spun off into a Double Trouble Spirit Sister group (cleverly named Mor(e)bid Curiosities 💀) which is exclusively for discussing our second morbid curiosity pick of the month.

As I start to summon the pieces of this blog, step by step, I’ve tried to lay the foundation of the essence this creepy corner should capture. I added a few pages to highlight some of the BTS processes or share some resources, like my Ratings + Review Policy for the books I read and a Style Guide for where I find my outfit inspirations/buy my clothing, and a Contact page if you need to reach me 📧👈
While this is still a lovely WIP, and quite possibly will incrementally change over time (just like my soul through this expansive universe), I wanted to start with a design that felt authentically like me and where my lore began/where I came from: Creepy 90s kid Courtney (the friendly ghost) and what a better way to showcase that then 90s/Y2K Slime Horror-core ☠️
