I’m such a mπd reader and tend to let the vibes of a particular book, theme, or mood guide me towards what I read.
Rating score
As I’m calibrating and figuring out my ratings and review process, since I truly cannot DNF (did not finish) a book, I thought I would jot out the logistics behind my 5-point scale:
1 skull: π — strongly disliked, should have DNF.
2 skulls: ππ — gave it a try, but wasn’t for me.
3 skulls: πππ — the story was there, but something missed.
4 skulls: ππππ — highly enjoyed the read experience.
5 skulls: πππππ — owns my heart, forever in my mind!

I will include warnings in my reviews for possible triggers β οΈ that might upset or alarm readers (as I tend to love that dark and dim, spooky sh!t π±)
With that being said, I do hold myself to these standards for reviewing the books I read and follow my own personal rating metric above when submitting reviews (on Fable, Goodreads and NetGalley.)
Fable

I’m an active member on the Fable app (for free, I’m using it on Android) and I host multiple book clubs on the mobile platform. It’s been such an inclusive experience and beyond fulfilling to sync up with other weird and spooky souls to read a wide range of genres and subjects.

If you’re into book clubs, or have always wanted to find one but just haven’t yet… I recommend downloading Fable, finding your next book club, and and never looking back (available on iOS/Android)
Goodreads

I’m active on Goodreads, where I share my rating and reviews and organize my monthly TBRs. While I love Goodreads, I’m definitely a lot more active on Fable lately, as I’m a lover of Fable’s simplistic app design and the exceptional user experience (arguably more than the Goodreads mobile app π)

NetGalley

I have an active NetGalley account, which grants me access to ARCs (Advanced Reader Copy) in exchange for an honest review within a given timeframe. You can find more info here and sign up for free.
