• Before we dive into tonight’s blog post, I feel we need to celebrate…

    Happy Friday the 13th
    Boils & Ghouls πŸ‘»πŸ’€

While others may fear the dates aligning like this, I rather enjoy a spooky coincidence occurring once or twice a year…

Mourning (Faux) Spring in May πŸƒ (East Coast Edition)

As I write this monthly reflection post of last month’s curated outfit during early June, we are only just now getting decent spring weather on the East Coast…

So to continue on with my spring inspiration board… it really hasn’t changed from April πŸ™ƒ

preview of my 🌱 Spring Pinterest board

Though I’ve started adding more light & flowy items to my Pinterest board, like oversized graphic tees, maxi dresses and wide leg pants.

Plus I’m really diggin’ the midi denim skirts lately and ever since I found my dream midi skirt last month, I want to curate so many outfits around the edgy and effortlessly chic vibes the skirt gives off!

literally obsessed with midi denim skirts lately πŸ‘€

    Fashion Friday 13th icon πŸ’€

I also really want to add the Freddy Kruger zipper hoodie from Dolls Kill to my collection… just for 00s era nostalgia πŸ™ˆ

I’ve actually had my Jason Voorhees sweater for years and I’m in love with the quality, weight and softness it embodies for such a terrifying item of clothing! πŸ–€

It’s perfect to wear for snuggling up and binging all the festive Friday the 13th films…

    Highlights of the Month πŸ•ΆοΈ

    Gala Ready! πŸͺ©

I didn’t know I was missing this dress until I tried it on… It truly was a hidden gem find at Urban Outfitters (and can you guess in which section? πŸ™ˆ

I wasn’t looking for a LBD at the time, but this one later became the ideal fit for a dressed up gala event I recently attended back in mid-May. Plus, pairing it with these cosmic Steve Madden Y2K platform shoes … sheer perfection!

    Professional Heartbreaker πŸ’”

I was so happy to score this midi denim skirt in the Urban Outfitters sale section earlier in the spring and I think I have certainly received my money’s worth…

check out how I’ve styled it before in last month’s curated looks

I absolutely love the high waisted cut and the heartbreak πŸ’” embroidered design on the side! It’s definitely going to be a staple of my summer wardrobe.

    In memory of

Barrington St. location Downtown Halifax first opened in 2015

Speaking of heartbreak, this will actually be the last week that our local Urban Outfitters is opened and I’m seriously in mourning the loss of a 10-year relationship 😭 (since I remember physically attending their grand opening when they first opened the store.)

RIP Urban Outfitters Epic Sale Section πŸͺ¦πŸ˜

time spent back here will forever be missed

    Streetwear Style 🧒

Would you believe me if I told you I found this retro MTV cap at a Dollarama, of all places?!

I was never a baseball cap kid growing up for fear of how I looked wearing hats, but in my adulthood I’ve found a new appreciation for them (and might actually be starting a small collection on my bedroom wall.)

  • Apologies are in order for being a little chaotic with my blog posts the last few weeks… life is (surprise, surprise) going through many cycles, transitions and chaotic changes that have my energy levels bouncing up and down at uncertain rates…

But with the weather getting warmer on the east coast and sunshine brightening our days, maybe some balance can be achieved in the near future!

Again, I’m truly glad we’ve found each other, Boils and Ghouls (my subscribers), and that we can vibe together here in this creepy corner πŸ•·οΈ of the interwebs πŸ•ΈοΈ

Maybe the universe hasn’t woven our connection yet? Then you should πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Consuming MORE Scary Stories And Morbid Media ☠️

For yet another short n’ spooky Sunday blog post, I wanted to share with you some more Morbid Media content from my favorite horror YouTubers that I consume on a regular basis… this time, less Podcast focused and more YT Commentary/Reviewer style!

(Again… please don’t worry for my health! I take good care of myself with regular eye-bleaching and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia references…)

    The Gruesome Twosome (aw, yeah!)

    Spotify Creepypasta Playlist?! 🎧

So I wanted to find out what Spotify thought of creepy playlists, and found a copy “creepy vintage music” and “scary background” playlists, but then discovered this Creepypasta playlist, made just for me πŸ™ˆ

So naturally I thought, why not share with the blog and allow everyone to enjoy some music this Sunday Funday?

Has Spotify made you a Creepypasta playlist?
Share it in the comments πŸ’¬

    More Creepy YouTube Content πŸ‘€πŸ“Ή

It’s no surprise I have enough content to supply a volume two to this edition, but I really do love my Morbid Media and also those who make intriguing and captivating creepy content on the regular.

Let’s play through some more of the channels I subscribe to on YouTube, shall we? ▢️

    ⚠️ATTENTION!

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED some of the following videos, due to the sensitive and disturbing subject matter being discussed.

    Mista GG

What drew me to Mista GG originally was his I watched 4 Disturbing Documentaries series and I just instantly fell in love with his sense of humor and clever dark wit to go through these atrocities and come out the other side (for us, the viewers πŸ™ˆ)

If you love disturbing documentaries but are a little too scared to check them out yourself, then I highly suggest you binge watch his series on Youtube.

watch the latest upload & also, you must check out the entire playlist

Not only does he review documentaries, but he semi-regularly reviews horror movies & video games! So honestly, a well rounded Horror media lover (just like myself, heh.)

    spookyastronauts

I’m only newly subscribed to Spookyastronauts and have zero regrets about binging her disturbing iceberg series or horror movie reviews on her Youtube Channel.

She recently popped up on my watch feed on YouTube, I suspect through Mista GG and other Horror movie reviewers, and I’m glad that I click(bait)ed one of her thumbnails, because I’m so impressed with the quality of her content and all the research she puts into her videos!

you should also check out the entire disturbing iceberg series
    ⚠️ TW Beware! ⚠️

So… I guess the clickbait actually did pay off in the end πŸ‘€

    PosessedByHorror

Holy cow, I swear if I ever chatted in real life with Sarah, we would become ultimate horror pals. No word of a lie. I have been a huge lover of her YT content for years- from her lifestyle vlog channel to her Goodreads reviews- that she is just every horror ghoul’s bff!

Not only does she crush her Horror Movie and TV Series content, she’s also an avid Horror reader and recently, she just made a video where she only read Extreme Horror for a month

I honestly want to do the same Extreme Horror for a Month challenge eventually, if I can ever get through my endless TBR…

And so, once again it seems like my morbid curiosity clearly gets the best of me when on Youtube, because I will never stop consuming the creepiest content online 😈

(and I’ll always be afraid of the dark…)

Have you checked out our other Morbid Media content? πŸ‘€

  • Happiest of Fridays, Boils and Ghouls, and what a magical connection this post has to a very scary number… 😈

    That means you must subscribe…

And maybe I’ll add this here for some protection, just in case 🧿

Heh, in all seriousness though… I thought it would be a cute & creepy coincidence? 😈 to post a blog on a new style I had in mind for my foreseeable future, since the dark energy would seemingly be at such a high climatic peak during this time…

    But first!

    Our Fashion Friday Icon 🀩

    Your Spooky Mom Elli

Fellow Fabler and spooky book lover Elli owns my soul when it comes to expressing your spooky self online.

I love her Sunday Scaries vols. posts & the spooky vibes she puts into all of her dark & gothic content πŸ–€

    Style Inspiration: Demonic Chic πŸ–€

Think: emodarkmoody… meets this edgychicrock aesthetic- connected together but the powerful forces of horror elements and dark demonic energy πŸ–€πŸ™ˆ

I feel as though combining textures (i.e., leather, lace, satin, etc.) and darker, edgy patterns really ties this style together & harnesses the dark power it holds!

    My Demonic Gala outfit (Parallel.io)

Check out my Pinterest Outfit Inspiration Board for more examples of Demonic Chic and OOTD inspirations πŸ“ŒπŸ‘€

Places To Shop For Demonic Chic πŸ›οΈ

    DollsKill

I am OBSESSED with all the brands on Dollskill but there’s one in particular (Widow) that I find is so fitting for all that demonic chic inspiration!

The black, the crosses, the lace and also those gothic vibes playing in all these different items… it’s perfect for reigning those hellish chic looks on the town, and definitely worth browsing to see if you can find some pieces to add to your collection for this type of style!

    Disturbia

While I personally haven’t ordered from Disturbia before, I have spent hours browsing their site and swooning over the many pieces that would be perfect for that demonic chic aesthetic.

If you’ve ordered from here before, let us know about your experience in the comments! πŸ’¬

I’d be so curious to see what the shipping experience is like to Canada (and also, finally own a gorgeous dress from Disturbia 🀩)

    Hot Topic & Spencer’s

So Hot Topic & Spencer’s, while being two separate stores, are sorta one in the same for me… as they are located right beside each other at my local shopping center, but in all seriousness, I find they’re the best places to get Horror graphic tees and Pop culture merchandise!
