Inspired Outfits For Welcoming Spring

We did it! 👏🏻

Another week completed and in the books, Boils and Ghouls!

I’m hoping it was as thrilling and productive for you as possible, and now wishing that you have a rejuvenating weekend to look forward to, and some lovely spring weather to welcome!

On the eastern coast of Canada 🌊 we usually welcome a mixed bag of weather for our Spring season (e.g., it could be high temperature summer sunny one day, and then a frost warning the next…) so when planning outfits, I’m always looking for a good transitional wardrobe to build outfits with (i.e., items you can layer upon or customize within a season to brace for those colder, outlier days 🥶)

Friday’s Fashion Icon 🤩

But before we get into tonight’s post, let me introduce you to

A true style icon on Parallel and such an inspirational IG content creator– Becka Hake’s chill and casual vibes give off the coziest and most chic outfits that look perfect for that seasonal transition, and feels so effortless and easy to recreate, or customize to rock in your own way!

Casually chill, laid-back and effortlessly easy to recreate & customize – I love the energy in every one of her photos and the radiance each outfit gives off in each post (plus it doesn’t hurt that all her items are linked via Parallel 👀)

For today’s Fashion Friday focused blog post, I wanted to showcase just some of my favorite Becka outfits that have actually inspired my own oufits to help with that transition from cold winter to blooming spring happiness ☀️

Chunky boots & skirts

I’m such a fan of big shoes – be it platform sandals, skate sneakers, or chunky sole combat boots – I just feel like many of my current style guide and outfit inspos revolve around a big, chunky footwear.

It feels chic, edgy, yet effortlessly casual- the tee, skirt and light cardigan- with cozy spirited energy that completes the entire look.

It’s perfect for an overcast-y spring afternoon… to grab an iced beverage and browse the town…

And to dress up the look, rock it out with a vintage blazer to give it that Night Out edge!

Weekend Market Trip Vibes

Who has the energy to dress up on a Saturday morning? I’m definitely not one of those souls. So on the weekend, I love a look that is easy to put together and ultra comfortable.

A baseball cap, comfy wide-leg pants, cozy shirts and large totebags? Yes – my ideal weekend wardrobe. Especially when weekends are usually Laundry days…

When the coastal winds are still extra chilly and strong, I’ll choose to wear a jacket (e.g. like my leather blazer from Eva B) until a sweater is more appropriate 🤞🏻

Blending Textures

The one thing I find so comforting is when I blend textures together. Mixing leathers with wool, suede with satin, etc. and find those items in my wardrobe to be the best for transitional outfit planning…

Looking AND feeling comfortable should be my official slogan for life… and frankly, the more layers your outfit has does increase the comfiness factor (to me, anyways… )

Retro Baby Tees

I can’t wait to wear my new baby tees and also break out all my cropped tees to rock during the warmer weather!

I spent last summer cropping a bunch of cool, local tees I found while thrifting to chic, crop tops to pair with shorts, skirts and high-waisted jeans.

FlowY Dresses

When it’s truly warm and humid, why would anyone want fitted clothing suffocating their skin? 🙈

Sure, some fitting is required (especially for strapless flowy dresses) but the less body-fitting, the better for warmer weather- in my opinion!

And I seriously can’t wait to break out some older flowy dresses from last summer and revamp them with some upcoming sewing projects I have in mind 🧵

  1. […] Pairing it with my Slip-on Vans (again) and more biker shorts just is the effortless summer chic look I’ve been striving to conjure up from the early start of last spring! […]
